No Colour Anymore Cowl
This lovely cowl is actually a variant of the pattern used in the Mustard Cowl. This time of year in Ireland it is absolutely freezing. I have furlined boots and you'd still wear fluffy socks with them because your toes would still be cold. Winter essentials include gloves, hat, balaclava, cowl or scarf maybe both at the same time, wooly socks and any thermal underwear you can find.
Lately, I've been exploring more of the dark, alternative, goth aspect to my fashion identity. I've always loved black, even before I started to embrace that aspect of my style the vast majority of my wardrobe has always been black. Somehow, I have no scarves or cowls that are plain black.
That must be amended.
The name for this cowl comes from the lyrics of the song 'Paint It Black' by the Rolling Stones. The song was first released as a single in 1966 and then was released on the album Aftermath later that same year.
To get into the right headspace and aesthetic for this project I would suggest listening to Aftermath while making this cowl.
For this project I used 400g of Robin Super Chunky Yarn in shade number 44 (Black).
You will also need a 10mm hook.
OOH that texture. Its so squishy.
