Ballinlough Beanie
I am making a lot of hats lately. Following the Boreenmanna Beanie
I created the Ballinlough Beanie, its similar to the Boreenmanna Beanie but has
a slightly modified pattern and a colour change. This hat was a present for my work secret santa. The pattern is ideal for beginners, those who just want to work on something simple or those learning to work in the round or do colour changes.
For this pattern you will need:
Sirdar Faroe 50g I used colour 398 Meadow.
Tivoli Maxi 100g I used colour 830 which is white.
10mm circular needles
A needle to weave in ends
Cast on 40 stitches in the Sirdar Faroe (colour A).
K2 P2 rib for 8 rows.
Change to the Tivoli Maxi (colour B).
Knit around until the hat measures 8 inches total.
K2tog around (20 times).
K2tog around (10 times).
K2tog around (5 times).
Cut the yarn leaving a long tail. Pull the tail through the
remaining stitches. Pull tight and weave in all ends.
Make a pompom in colour A (Sirdar Faroe).
Attach the pompom and rock it!
This hat works up really quickly! I made it one evening while I was in the pub. Don't worry I only had two drinks! I've learned the hard way that drunk knitting does not end well.
