I scream for Ice Cream- Part 1

I started a new blanket. I really shouldn't have but my Nan gave me all this yarn... She cleared out her stash and yes its all acrylic but I am not complaining!

There's a lot of yarn there. I carefully selected my colours and then ended up with...
358g of pink DK,
341g of green DK,
324g of tan DK,
132g of brown DK,
125g of yellow DK,
41g of pinky purple DK,
And finally, 289g of white DK.

Each colour represents a different flavour of ice cream. The pink is strawberry, the green is mint (or pistachio), the tan is the cone (or caramel), the brown is chocolate, the yellow is banana, the pinky purple is raspberry ripple and of course the white is vanilla.

As this yarn was gifted and a lot of it had to be ripped back I am missing a lot of yarn labels, but they seem to all be acrylic DK. I am using about 3 shades of pink and 3 shades of yellow but they all work very nicely together.

There is a 21 row colour repeat with a row of white sc between each row.

This is a picture of rows 1 to 10 with the white sc between each row. As you can see some of the white rows have spike stitches in them.

For this pattern you will need a 4.5mm  or a 5mm hook and the yarn colours listed above.
I used a 5mm.

The start of the pattern will be in the next post.
Until then, enjoy your week!
