Scrap Yarn Blanket- An introduction
This is a very simple pattern, its your basic granny square. This is an excellent project for stash busting all your little scraps but if you don't have enough scraps to bust I would recommend some nice 50g balls of DK or aran weight yarn, such as King Cole Dollymix, they come in 50g balls, 100% acrylic but they're very cute and perfect for a baby blanket.
This pattern will be two really, there will be a baby blanket and an afghan. The complete pattern for the baby blanket will be posted first but they are both beautiful and simple.
You will need,
Yarn scraps, in many, many colours. I used every colour except for black, white and dark brown. I even have one silver and one gray in there.
White Aran weight yarn. I'm using James C. Brett with wool, I ordered it online and I've already used my first 400g ball (I have A LOT of scraps).
A 4mm hook.
You will end up with many of these.
For the baby blanket you will need 63 coloured centres.
To begin, ch3, sl st into 1st ch to create a loop.
1. ch2 (counts as first tr), tr into centre, ch2, 2tr, ch2, 2tr, ch2, 2 tr, ch1, sl st into 2nd ch of st ch. Fasten off.
And that's it. First row done. Easy as pie right?
I like to put them all on a long piece of string so I can see how many I have.

Plus it looks super pretty!
And so, until the second row, I bid you adieu! xx
