I made a hat

Well, another hat in any case. This one was for my mother, to match her Nirvana cowl.
I ripped back the hat that was in the same yarn as the Nirvana cowl and cast on.

This took a few goes, I wanted the brim nice and snug, but the number of stitches had to be divisible by 4 because I wanted my cast on to start with a K2 and end with a P2. SEAMLESS!!

4 inches of 2x2 rib and then into the honeycomb brioche. Silly old me decided that I would attempt "jogging". Then of course I made massive mistake and HAD TO RIP THE ENTIRE THING BACK.
I almost cried.

Then I glared at it for 2 days.

Finally I went back at it, everything was going fine and dandy up until the decreases.
Oh god, the decreases. At that point I kinda gave up, I hoped the mistakes wouldn't be to obvious and just finished the hat.

YAY, you can't see any mistakes! This is because they're all up at the crown, its a dark yarn and super stretchy and the pattern is squooshy so they just disappeared!

Safe to say she loves it.
She's been in a great mood all week because of it.
She even untangled a huge ball of yarn for me.

This ball of yarn will be turning into my next hat, of my own design and yes I will be posting the pattern here.

Its almost the end of the college term. I have one exam at the start of May and then I'm free. Then on placement again in August, like at the very start of August. Oh well!

I'm back running again! Straight back into the 5k's with no problem, except my ass hurts. You know the way big busted women say their boobs hurt when the run and they have to wear two sports bras, its the same thing. But its my ass. Ow.

Fingers crossed I'll be hearing about my summer job this week, which will pay for yet more yarn!!
Before I forget, here's a quick little update on my Scrap Blanket.

So many motifs! So many colours!
I went into my LYS to get some white aran in an acrylic wool blend to go with it, they had cream and grey but no white. So I bought the grey to try it out.

Yeah that was a definite no go. The grey really dulls a lot of the colours when really they need to POP!
So I've ordered some James C. Brett aran with wool in white to go with it. And it shall work!!

I have 4 WIP's on the go. 4!! And they're all blankets. I did not think that one through. And I have made myself promise to do more on one of them and get it closer to finishing before I can start something else.

Damn, I let my tea go cold...
I hate when that happens.

Hopefully I will have a new pattern up here within the next week or two.
Keep an eye out! Or subscribe for an email notification!

Enjoy your week lovelies!
AND TREAT YO SELF! (Preferably to yarn!)

Love, Joy xx

PS. If you want to treat me too, yes it will be yarn. There's a donate button at the top of my page. Yellow thing, you can't miss it. Buy me a cup of coffee? Or my next ball of yarn?
Thanks,
J xx
